My First Blog Post

What is text?

Text is used as a form of communication. Communication can come in a variety of ways. Normally, we think of communication as verbal and nonverbal. However, I think communication can come in more ways than just verbally and non verbal gestures. I think people can communicate through symbols, music, art, photos, paintings, landmarks, etc.

The most common form of text people seem to think of is written words.

The Cistern at the College of Charleston is a huge landmark in Charleston, SC. The Cistern represents, or communicates, The College of Charleston to people. If someone from the Charleston area or a C of C alumni or were to see of photo of this, they would automatically know this photo was taken at the College of Charleston.
